Mystery – The Church as Architecture (2)

We saw last week that the church as symbolized in architecture needs to:   1) built upon the only foundation that has been laid – Jesus Christ;  and   2) those building upon that foundation need to assess the value of the material with which they build.  Not all spiritual issues contain equal value.  The expending of one’s spiritual capital should always call for a serious examination of the value of what is being purchased.

This lesson continues to look at symbols in the realm of architecture by first looking at the significance of Jesus building His kingdom upon THE ROCK.   There are a number of rock solid truths that help one comprehend how Jesus viewed the nature of His church.  For example:  Jesus built it!  Jesus’ kingdom wins!  and  Jesus brings His church complete security.

The lesson concludes with yet one additional architectural figure, the church is to be the SUPPORT OF GOD’S TRUTH.  The church is to be compressed by the truths of God.  It is to stand firm as it is the pillar and support of the God’s truth.
