The Paralysis of Grace (conclusion)

Our last study showed how quickly God’s grace-plan was interrupted when workers turned “against” each other.  This lesson will build upon the foundations laid last week to:

1)  Share some observations about the nature and outcome of complaining.

2) View how Nehemiah dealt with the problems which paralyzed God’s grace activities.

  • He dealt with his own anger
  • He reminded those stuck in their “against” mindset that they were “brothers.”
  • He pointed out that the work they were doing was the “Fathers.”
  • He does not put on the rest of the people anything he does not also put on himself.
  • He released himself of personal responsibility for correcting the situation and let the offenders know this was now between them and God.

The lesson concludes with three practical points about the value of the followers of Jesus being “for” each other.
