A Person of Grace

The personal experience of God’s grace usually has its beginning within some sort of PAIN or suffering.  Those trying to indulge in the grace of God will then usually find themselves profiting from the PRAYERS of grace.  Such was the situation for Nehemiah.  The hurt on his heart drove him to his knees.

The next trace of grace visible within the book of Nehemiah is found within the actual person of Nehemiah.  Whatever his personality attributes, regardless of weather they were developed by nature or nurture, Nehemiah is uniquely a PERSON of grace.  This study will outline some of the evidence showing this man of God as a personification of the grace of God.

Some believers are people of law.  They seek to reduce spiritual service to adherence to a specific list of spiritual responsibilities.  This list (whatever it be) easily becomes a driving force in their own spiritual walk and provides them a compilation to enforce upon the spiritual walk of others.

Other believers are people of compromise.  They find no spiritual realities for which they must stand.  They will endeavor to travel the path of least resistance rather than the needful path.   These folks have calluses from continually straddling the proverbial fence.

Still other believers are people of grace.  They bring into every aspect of their life journey the experience of grace they themselves have recieved.  These people provide a blessing to everyone they touch.  They bring grace into ever situation they encounter.  They spread peace, acceptance, joy and focus into every situation.  This is an appropriate description of Nehemiah.    This amazing man of pain and prayer demonstrates the remarkable mannerisms of being a person of grace.
