The Pain of Grace
Finding God’s grace within the book of Nehemiah. That’s the quest for our current study series. In our last lesson we found that the situation confronting Israel in the book of Nehemiah illustrates how the loss of a grace-focus results in loss of a life-purpose.
Now we look to see how a grace-focus was reconstructed. Amazingly, we will find that such germinates within – pain. Often when we think of growing in our understanding and appreciation of grace we think of focusing on blessings and thankfulness. Such appreciative elements do have a place in comprehending the nature of God’s grace. However, when one is talking about experiencing the grace of God, it most often germinates within a painful situation.
Our study will look at how the first five verses of Nehemiah outline the depth of pain that is driving this godly man to seek the experience of God’s grace.
