A Trace of Grace
Previously we determined that God, as the “God of all grace” (1 Pet. 5:10), is the complete PLACE OF GRACE. He is all grace and gives all grace! In God, grace lacks nothing and given God’s grace, one has all God can give!
Next we took a look at the FACE OF GRACE. This study attempted to correct some of our misconceptions about grace which prove problematic for most believers. The Apostle Paul fought to get a proper focus on the face of God’s grace. He pleaded for God to remove that which was “thorny” (in his view) to his life and spiritual service. God responded with corrective principles which provided the revelation of the face of His grace. Paul was able to correct his portrait of God and concluded that God’s , “grace was sufficient” for him and that he could become strong in his weakness (2 Cor. 12:9).
We now begin to travel through a familiar Old Testament book to “TRACE GOD’S GRACE” in the events surrounding the rebuilding of the Jerusalem wall as led by Nehemiah. This lesson introduces our study and establishes how the troubled Israelites were void of a grace-filled life-vision. As we dig into this book we will watch all that change! Leaders and citizens alike, will rekindle a life-vision that is capsulized within the grace of God. It is that renewal that will provide further enlightenment for us as we TRACE GOD’S GRACE – through the rebuilding of the Jerusalem wall.
