Jesus Walked in Physical Misfortune

The path Jesus walked and the one upon which His followers will also tread, is one which includes many misfortunes.  There were many aspects of misfortune which descended upon Jesus during His life upon earth.

This lesson suggests some of the physical misfortunes Jesus endured during His time on earth. The prophet Isaiah speaks profoundly of the physical misfortunes which befell the “Servant” of God and within the New Testament record we encounter the painful fulfillment of Isaiah’s words.

In this lesson we examine some elements of Jesus physical misfortune:

• His very birth was a misfortune for a divine being
• The apparent misfortune of Joseph’s death
• Physical weariness and being exasperated
• Financial misfortunes of poverty
• Physical misfortunes of full knowledge of death

When a J-walker encounters physical misfortunes it is important to recall that the Savior endured a great number of these Himself.  It is part of the path upon which He walked.  Following Him will put us within the same physical environment.
