Why Follow Jesus?

Why Follow Jesus?  Over the past weeks we have looked at the anatomy of commitment and discussed strategies by which to analyze one’s level of spiritual  commitment.  The next subdivision in our study will lead us into and examination of the Affirmations of Commitment.  What are the attitudes, attributes, alterations and actions which corroborate one as a commitment follower of Jesus?  If I’m walking with Jesus, what does my life look like?

I think a good place to begin this type discussion is by asking oneself, what is the motivation causing the walk with Jesus in the first place?  For one’s movement down the road of J-walking, is inseparably linked to the depth of that motivation.  This lesson will outline five reasons why believers should be highly motivated to engage in a deeper connection with Jesus.

• We are part of the ORDER of Jesus’ followers!
• We have OBLIGATED ourselves to follow Him!
• Believers become OBSESSED  with the Master they seek to imitate!
• Followers are always under OBSERVATION and viewed by others as a “living Gospel!”
• Those walking with Jesus are motivated by God’s personal OBJECTIVE for their lives!
