An Encounter with Forgiveness

This series of forgiveness lessons was first presented as an adult Bible class, next as a sermon series, and lastly in workshop format at the Montana State Lectureship in 2011.  The recordings are of the sermon series presented at the Lincoln church of Christ in Lincoln, NE.

The purpose of the series is to provide the listener with Biblical details for a personal encounter with forgiveness.  The lessons are sequential so it is important that you work your way down the web page to stay with that sequence.

Defining Biblical Forgiveness

The understanding of Biblical forgiveness has been muddied by many human additions and connections to the subject.  This lesson attempts to go beneath all those additives and explore a pure and Biblical definition of forgiveness. 

In this lesson we find that the Hebrew and Greek words aid us in discovering exactly how God intended for us to understand this vital subject.  We also will find the Biblical usage and appearances of these words helpful in gaining a concise comprehension of its exact nature.
