A Safe Church Is Free From Word Wars

We have been looking at some of Paul’s instructions to Timothy and finding principles which aid in creating a church where individuals abide in safety.

We saw first that such a environment is created when Christians find there strength in God’s grace not in their understanding or knowledge of God’s truth.  Secondly, we discovered that a safe church is a place where members share their hardships with each other and thus find a safe-based acceptance and encouragement. 

This lesson will take a look at what Paul says about “wrangling over words.”  One practice among believers which destroys all sense of safety is when negative attitudes go unchecked and find their release in abusive words.
