A “Re-View” of the Lord’s Table

While we remember the Lord’s body and blood in our weekly observance of communion, our church family takes all the fifth Sundays to engage in a unique communion focus.  Our songs, prayers, and lesson all address the beauty of gathering at the Lord’s table.

This last week we sought to examine four different views of the Lord’s supper.  Within Scripture there is instruction to Look Backward during the supper as it serves as a remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus.  There is also a view which Looks Outward and finds special solace in the connection with brothers and sisters within Christ’s body.   Yet another view encouraged during this spiritual feast is a Look Inward as each participant examines themselves.  Finally, there is also within the meal a Looking Forward to the return of our Savior.

These points were shared by three shepherds of our congregation – Steve Burham, Michael Kelsey and Dan Fraser.  Enjoy this “re-view” of the various vantage points contained within the Meal of Victory!
