From the Path of Apathy to the Road of Recovery

So much of the message delivered by the minor prophets focused upon disobedience and punishment.  Israel’s unfaithfulness and disobedient sinfulness could not be tolerated by a Holy Father.  So within the tension of His grace, God created an environment in which those serving sin would suffer the consequences of their wayward walk.

However, even amid the sting of divine discipline a vision of hope is often offered.  Most of the prophets, however, place the hopeful restoration far into the future.  In this lesson we look at a minor prophet who shares the Lord’s message and the results of his work bring on a rebirth of hope for the present.

Within Haggai’s short message we discover the path Israel took which led them into spiritual apathy.  But we also find the map which directed them toward spiritual recovery.  The path and road lessons we find are extremely applicable to our own spiritual walk.
