Mystery – The Church as Family

This lesson begins by illustrating how each person possess a multiplicity of relationships.  Those relationships vary in degree and are governed by a variety of rules.  Things appropriate in one relationship may be totally inappropriate in another.  Thankfully,  we usually learn quickly which rules apply to which relationships.  There is, however, one unmistakable truth:  we will always encounter trouble if we confuse relationship rules.

Spiritual relationships fall into two main categories.  First, there is the relationship with Father God, Jesus, and the Spirit.  There are certain regulations to which those vertical relationships must adhere.  We will always encounter troubles if we confuse those relationship rules.   But there are also vertical spiritual relationships in which we connect with other believers.  Once again Scripture identifies guidelines governing such connections and we will encounter troubles if we confuse those relationship rules.
