Ineffective Methods of Forgiveness
We have labored to define and lay out reasons why one should forgive. There are, however, a number of elements at work attempting to hinder one from going into the actual practice of being a forgiver. It is vital to understand the nature of these barriers before we can become full forgivers.
This lesson shares some survey results in which participants shared their greatest challenges in practicing forgiveness as well as some ineffective methods they had used in seeking to achieve forgiveness.
Building upon that survey, this lesson shares three practices which paralyze the forgiveness process: Control, Magnification, and Substitution.
