What comes to mind when you hear the word “evangelism?”

For most believers the word conjures up some very fearful images.  Attempting to speak with total strangers about Jesus is not at all enticing to most people.  Maybe the word causes others to think of how sharing Christ with a friend might jeopardize that relationship.  Others are fearful of labels that will be attached to them if they become more vocal about their faith and spiritual hope.

Many things have contributed to our images of evangelism.  Sadly, many of those images have been nurtured by some misconceptions regarding evangelism.  After discussing some of those,  this lesson lays a foundation truth necessary to build a proper understanding of the Christian’s challenge to share their faith.
