Be Strong and Courageous

Our “through the Bible in a year” reading schedule brings us to the book of Joshua.  God has told Moses to instruct Joshua to be strong and courageous as the people prepare to take the Promised land.  We also discover the Lord repeats this instruction personally to Joshua as well.

As they cross the Jordan river and are preparing to approach Jericho, Joshua has an encounter with the Commander of the Lord’s army.  This worshiped and holy entity of deity becomes an addition to the strength and courage experienced by this body of believers.

That Commander holds some messages for us as well.  As today’s wanderers, making our preparations for the Promised land, we too can approach each troublesome battle with strength and courage.  This lesson examines five points which can motivate modern disciples to experience that added strength and courage.
