Do You Hear God’s Call?
The saved have “called on His name” for their salvation (Acts 22:16). But they also are responsible to, “pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord…” (2Tim. 2:22). There is a continual need to follow God’s call.
God’s call can take a number of forms. Reading the Word may provide the means by which God calls His child to a renewed commitment to follow His lead. Circumstances both ordinary and extraordinary have been God’s methods of touching a heart with His calling. There are times when a persistent and lingering burden may be the fashion of HIs call. Even a new awareness of one’s abilities, talents, or spiritual gifts can provide a child of God with the call of God.
However, like Elijah discovered there can be a number of distractions making the voice of God difficult to hear. So much of our “life-noise” can deaden our ability to comprehend God’s still small voice.
This lesson will examine a text of Scripture which illustrates some unique characteristics of God’s call and obeying it.
