Maintain or Mission?

This is a Sunday when the church’s shepherds shared with the church the purpose and mission they hold for themselves and this body of believers.  The desire is for individuals and our collective group to adopt a sense of purpose that motivates every aspect of our lives.

• The renewed sense of  mission/purpose causes one to look INWARDLY, in a way that is appropriate and healthy.  Such a look should produce a renewed acceptance and understanding of ourselves as wells as additional respect and love for our spiritual brothers and sisters.
• It also builds an OUTWARD focus that is driven by a purposeful mission rather than church programs and leadership established duties.  This outward look should become the lifestyle of the saved not an occasional activity generated by guilt.
• A focused purpose also is constantly looking UPWARD to lay before God the desires of the heart and soul.  But also to hear the still small voice of a God who leads in perfect compliance with His love.  This upward look should not limited to times of unfettered blessing but is a much needed focus for survival during the desert times within the spiritual desert.
