Mystery – The Church as a Boat (2)

Early Christians made use of the boat as a symbol of the church.  Last time we saw that one possible explanation for this choice was them viewing similarities between the salvation offered within the ark of Noah and salvation offered within the church of Christ.

This lesson looks at a second possibility for their selection of a boat.  The gospel of Mark contains multiple references to Jesus and a boat within chapters four through eight.  Each incident offers a new symbolism as to how the new kingdom of Jesus was similar to a boat.
