Does Mrs. Zebedee Get A Bad Rap?

I wonder how many have been left with the impression that Mrs. Zebedee was an over-zealous mother? Her request for James and John to have a place on the right and left of the Master has often been viewed as growing from selfishness and motivated by a desire for her son’s self-advancement.

However, I wonder if Mrs. Zebedee might not be getting a bad rap. This lesson will examine the Biblical text and look at the INFORMATION which predicated her request, the method in which her INQUIRY was made, the honor of her INTENTIONS and her INGENUITY in motivating her sons.
