Jesus Walks in Magnanimity – Today!

During His life time and immediately following His ascension, Jesus demonstrated a magnanimous spirit toward his disciples and enemies.  This lesson will outline how He maintains that spirit toward people even today.

Jesus is today showing His magnanimity to those who are saints.   Those “in Christ” enjoy some remarkable and tremendous blessings which are attributed to the currently patient spirit of the Savior.  Saints need to REJOICE in the magnanimity of Jesus!

Jesus also renders His long-suffering to those who are stumbling.   During His lifetime, Jesus taught that the reason for stumbling was “darkness.”  Step out of the light, your vision and focus are darkened and you stumble.   John uses a similar analogy when he writes of the importance of “walking in the light” as apposed to walking in the darkness of being deceived by sin.  Stumblers need to RETURN to the magnanimity of Jesus!

Jesus also has a continuing magnanimity toward sinners who have not yet been saved.  The kindness, patience, and long-suffering of God have appeared to lead people to repentance (Rom. 2:4).  He patiently puts off returning, “not willing that any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:9).  The lesson ends with five things those not yet saved need to know.  Sinners not yet saved need to RECIEVE the magnanimity of Jesus!
