Minister Search
The Lincoln Church of Christ (56th & Vine) in Lincoln, Nebraska, established in 1943, is prayerfully seeking a full-time minister to partner with our elders in serving a loving congregation of approximately 120 members.
After faithfully serving our congregation for 29 years, our beloved minister passed away unexpectedly. We are now prayerfully seeking the Lord’s guidance as we begin the search for a new full-time minister to continue the work of preaching, teaching, and pastoral care to our church family. Our congregation remains steady, unified, and committed to the mission of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are a self-supported congregation, and salary and benefits are negotiable as part of the call process. The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to New Testament Christianity and a dedication to preaching and living the Word of God.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and delivering biblically sound sermons.
- Teaching Bible classes as needed.
- Building meaningful relationships with members through visitation, personal Bible studies, and spiritual encouragement.
- Encouraging evangelism, discipleship, and member involvement.
- Perform weddings and funerals as needed and provide counseling when appropriate.
- Maintaining regular office hours and being available to serve the needs of the congregation.
Qualifications:
- Strong preaching, teaching, and biblical communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with wisdom and compassion.
- Ability to relate to and minister effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ministry experience and/or biblical education preferred but not required.
